A new doxoINSIGHTS report titled “Which Largest U.S. Cities are Most Expensive for Household Bills in 2023?” reveals that Mount Pleasant ranks the No. 1 most costly city in South Carolina, with the average household paying $2,714 a month, or $32,565 annually, for the 10 most common house expenses.
Similarly, the report states that the cost of living in Mount Pleasant is 32.6 percent higher — or $8,008 more — than the national average and 46.4 percent greater than the state average.
In addition, the statistical analysis provider indicates that household bills account for 32 percent of the annual household income of $100,882 in Mount Pleasant.
The average monthly payments on common expenses include:
